She not only had a synthetic sweater on that can generate static electricity, but she also went back in the car. NEVER re-enter the car while refueling. No cellphones, no staticky clothes, no refilling the plastic gas can on the truck bedliner (Refuel it on the ground), either; Always touch something metal. And just as true today as back then: NO SMOKING! (Yes, even in our 'enlightened era', you'd be surprised...)
